A good assault rifle is a key component of any shooter's load-out. There are four to choose from in Apex Legends. The HAVOC Rifle is the only of the four assault rifles to use energy ammo. The others use heavy ammunition and light ammunition. It is precisely this that makes assault rifles an excellent weapon class in the game. They are not limited to one ammunition type, meaning it will be easier to find enough ammunition mid-fight.
The HAVOC itself does have its drawbacks in terms of fire rate. However, if you modify it properly it can become a single-shot kill weapon and a perfect one to have at your side in any fight.
On this page, we're going to show you the damage stats, attachments, and skins for the HAVOC rifle. All of this information should help you decide if this is the weapon for you.

Attachments
The HAVOC can accept stock attachments as well as Holo, HCOG, Variable Holo, and Variable AOG sights. We’d recommend pairing the latter with the Selectfire Receiver hop-up. This mod removes the need for a charge before firing, as well as turning the HAVOC into single-shot mode. This significantly increases the base damage of each shot but each shot costs 4 ammo.
Sights
- 1x Holo (Common)
- 1x HCOG Classic (Common)
- 2x HCOG Bruiser (Rare)
- 1x-2x Variable Holo (Rare)
- 3x HCOG Ranger (Epic)
- 2x-4x Variable (Epic)

At the time of writing, there is a total of 67 weapon skins for the HAVOC in Apex Legends. This includes 14 Legendary, 10 Epic, 27 Rare, and 16 Common skins. The skins range in price, from 30 Crafting Metals (Common) to 1,200 Crafting Metals (Legendary)
Review
The HAVOC can be a great automatic weapon, but its charge time makes it feel a little unhelpful at times. This is especially a hindrance in reactive firefights where you aren’t shooting first. If you add the Selectfire Receiver hop-up though, it becomes a lethal single-shot rifle. With this attachment, the HAVOC can kill a heavily armoured opponent in just four body shots.
The HAVOC rifle is a good assault rifle in Apex Legends, especially if you enjoy searching for that perfect attachment in the heat of battle. If you're not too keen on picking up a weapon that needs work, maybe the R-301 Carbine is for you. Having the perfect Legend is a key factor in becoming the champion of the match.
