Craft Skins
Collect Crafting Metals
Before you can make skins for your Legend, you will need to collect enough crafting metals. Crafting Metals are found in Apex Packs, which are earned for ranking up or you can buy them with real money. You only get a small amount in each pack, even if you get the Legendary variation.
The materials come in four rarities:
- Common Crafting Metal = 15
- Rare Crafting Metal = 30
- Epic Crafting Metal = 200
- Legendary Crafting Metal = 600
Once you reach the required amount, you can convert those materials into the item of your choice. Be prepared to spend plenty of time working towards them – Legendary Skins cost as much as 1,200 Crafting Metals.
Craft the Skin
You can use your crafting metals to craft skins for your Legends. To do this, head into the main menu of the game and select the "Legends" tab at the top. Select which Legend you want to create the skin for and you will instantly be brought to the skins screen. Scroll through all of the options and click on them to preview what the skin looks like on your Legend. When you have found the one you want, follow the control prompt at the bottom of the screen to craft it.
Skins come in 4 tiers. Unless you earn a skin through an Apex Pack or as an Event Reward, you'll have to spend a different amount of crafting metals for each skin tier:
- Common Skins = 30 Crafting Metals
- Rare Skins = 60 Crafting Metals
- Epic Skins = 400 Crafting Metals
- Legendary Skins = 1,200 Crafting Metals
Apex Packs
If you don't want to spend your crafting metals on skins then there is no need to worry. You can collect quite a few skins for free when you open an Apex Pack. They will often be common or rare skins but if you are lucky, you can get your hands on epic and legendary ones.
Twitch Prime Rewards
If you’re an Amazon Prime subscriber, you should have access to Twitch Prime. This service can be really handy for players to be subscribed to. When it comes to Apex Legends, it means the service offers plenty of cosmetics for the game, including skins and more. Be sure to check Twitch Prime regularly as they often add items without warning.
Play Through the Battle Pass
You do have to pay for the Battle Pass with real money but it can be worth it when you look at the rewards on offer. If you're not sure if you want to buy a pass for that season, you can take a look at the rewards on offer in-game first. As you play through the battle pass and level up, you will be rewarded with numerous rewards and that includes expensive skins.
Once you get a cool skin for your character in Apex Legends, you can feel like you own the battlefield.
