We've not heard about Obsidian Entertainment’s Avowed for sometime. Revealed during the Xbox Games Showcase in 2020, Obsidian Entertainment's latest fantasy RPG hasn't been seen since, though new reports suggest a 2023 release date.
Speaking on Boxenberger’s World of Gaming podcast, Windows Central’s Jez Corden confirmed he believed it could release in Q1/Q2 2023, stating:
"But it looked – the gameplay looked solid. It looked playable and ready to go…I think we’ll probably see the game revealed this year and then maybe like a launch…maybe Q1, Q2 2023."
Avowed Rumoured to Launch in 2023
Corden previously reported on the game last October, stating that the upcoming RPG would be heavily inspired by Elder Scrolls. Allegedly, that'll include two-handed combat, wizard spells, destructible environments, and more. However, none of this has been officially confirmed, so take that with a grain of salt.
Launching on Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Xbox Game Pass, Avowed forms part of the Pillars of Eternity universe. We don't have an official release window at this time, though should that change, we'll be sure to let you know.
