We're not gonna mince words here, Babylon’s Fall has had a rough launch. On PC, this new live-service hack-and-slash only garnered 650 concurrent players upon release, according to SteamDB. That's since risen to just over 1k, but for a live-service game, these numbers will likely raise alarm bells.
Published by Square Enix and developed by Platinum Games, Babylon's Fall launched yesterday across Steam, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. Considering Platinum Games previously mentioned wanting to make more live-service games in the future, this isn’t a promising start.

Babylon’s Fall Had a Pretty Rough Launch on Steam
While Metacritic only lists two reviews currently across PC and PS5, most fans haven't greeted this game well. Fighting game enthusiast and Square Enix fan Maximilian Dood made a sponsored video for Babylon’s Fall, but his dislike for the new title was pretty evident.
This doesn’t mean the end of Babylon’s Fall, necessarily. Games like Final Fantasy XIV and No Man’s Sky were able to recover after substantial updates, but only time will tell if we see that here. Babylon’s Fall is now available on PC, PS4, and PS5. Stay tuned for more news as it happens.
