There are several ways to communicate with the creatures of Baldur's Gate 3. If you happen to find a person with a parasite in their brain like you, you will be able to communicate with them silently. However, you can also talk with people the old-fashioned way by going up and clicking on them. Although, if you think you're limited to just the living creatures of the world, you would be wrong.
In Baldur's Gate 3, there are actually ways to communicate with the dead. This mechanic has a similar process to speaking with animals, but there aren't as many chances to talk with animals as there are with the deceased. After all, you will likely leave quite a lot of dead bodies in your wake over the course of the game.
So if you want to find out how to speak with the dead in Baldur's Gate 3, check out the guide below.

Talking with dead people in Baldur's Gate 3
As far as we're aware, there are only two ways you can go about speaking with dead people in Baldur's Gate 3. They both involve the use of the level 3 Necromancy Spell called Speak with the Dead.
Necromancy Spells are available to most characters to learn as long as you select the Ritual Feat when you level up. This gives you access to learn two different level 3 Necromancy Spells, one of them being Speak with the Dead.
The Amulet of Lost Voices
Alternatively, you can also find a special amulet that carries the Speak with the Dead skill with it. This amulet is called The Amulet of Lost Voices and it is found inside of the dank crypt, which is the chapel right near the Overgrown Ruins waypoint. The door to the chapel is locked near this waypoint, but you can find a separate way in by going to the ruins east of the Roadside Cliffs waypoint.
The amulet is found at the very end of the dank crypt on the northern side and it's inside a coffin that is locked behind a secret door. This room is located behind a giant statue and contains Withers, the skeleton who helps you respec your character. However, once you're done with the coffin the entire room will spring to life, causing the skeletons to become hostile and subsequently forcing you to fight them.
After all that is done, you can then equip the Amulet of Lost Voices on any character and they will gain the ability to speak with the dead. However, to actually do this, you need to find a dead body that is not too badly beaten up, use the Speak with the Dead spell, and then click on the body that you want to converse with.
You can only ask a dead person five questions and you can only speak to one dead person per day. So you need to take a long rest to reset this ability.
