Should you kill Minthara in Baldur's Gate 3? There are several characters you are able to recruit to join your party early on in Baldur's Gate 3. From Lae'zel and Shadowheart, both of whom you meet on the nautiloid, to Gale and Wyll, who are found in other areas, you will have no shortage of options when it comes to crafting the perfect party. However, there are some possible companions that were not available in the early access portion of Baldur's Gate 3, and Minthara is one of them.
Minthara is a Drow Paladin that you can first encounter at the Goblin Camp. You will most likely make your way to the camp and find Minthara when looking for Halsin, the First Druid. From here, it's all about your decision to keep Minthara alive or follow what Halsin says and kill her. Below, we will give you both sides of the Drow Paladin's story so you can decide for yourself what to do with her. As a note, this guide will contain some spoilers for the Emerald Grove and Minthara questlines.

Should you kill Minthara or not in Baldur's Gate 3?
When you get to the goblin camp, you can choose to head straight for Minthara's room or find Halsin in the Worgs Pen. If you find Halsin first, he will tell you that he wants you to kill Minthara, as she is planning an attack on Emerald Grove. If you visit with Minthara first, she will tell you of this plan and that you need to come with her to the grove to slaughter all of the Tieflings and Druids there.
Regardless of who you see first, you will have a decision to make: side with Minthara and the goblins or choose to support Halsin and Emerald Grove and kill all three of the goblin leaders, Minthara included.
Killing Minthara
By siding with Halsin, you will alienate the goblin camp and be forced to kill the three goblin leaders. After all three are dead, you will return to Emerald Grove with Halsin and there will be a big celebration with the Tieflings at your camp. This is where a lot of your initial romance options come into play.
Siding with Minthara
Now, if you decide to support Minthara and attack Emerald Grove, you will earn favour with her and the goblin camp will throw a huge celebration after your big victory. It's here that you can choose to romance Minthara, leading to a sex scene. However, you will wake up with Minthara's knife on your throat, forcing you to pass a persuasion check to stop her from killing you. If you pass the check, then you will be able to add Minthara to your party as a full-fledged companion.

So, it comes down to whether or not you want Minthara as a companion. She's a Paladin, so she could be your persuasion character as well as a healer in combat. She's also terrific with melee weapons and other spells. You might also want to consider the romance aspect of keeping Minthara around.
It's ultimately up to you, but it's difficult to slaughter the entire Emerald Grove. It also helps if you're playing as a Paladin, because that means you don't really need Minthara in your party.
But there you have it, that's everything you need to know about choosing to kill or save Minthara in Baldur's Gate 3. While you're here, be sure to check out our romance guide, Monk guide, and if you're struggling to choose a class we have a list of all the best builds!
