Battlefield 2042 has been one of the more interesting releases in the franchise’s history, with many praising Battlefield Portal and Hazard Zone, while others think that this could be the end of this series. Through all of that though, there are still a lot of fans who want a Battlefield 2042 Battle Royale.
Many felt that Battlefield 2042 was perfect for a Battle Royale game since it allows for 128 players in next-gen consoles and 64 players in current-gen systems, so it might not be too surprising to know that there might actually be plans to introduce the mode to the shooter.

Battlefield 2042 Reportedly Getting a Battle Royale but Not Anytime Soon
According to known leaker Tom Henderson, Battlefield 2042 will be getting a Battle Royale mode soon, though not in the next six months, as the detailed video discusses some of the development hurdles that the game went through.
Knowing that a Battle Royale will come to Battlefield 2042 in the future is going to make a lot of fans happy, though Henderson does say that the game was originally meant to have the mode in mind, making the 128-player count even more suspicious.
Considering how players were hoping that the game was going to have a Battle Royale at launch, introducing the mode could make Battlefield 2042 more popular, especially if the mode ends up being released as a separate Free-to-Play version.
In the end, we’ll see what happens and if things can go well for Battlefield 2042 but only time will tell if a Battle Royale is enough to do that.
Battlefield 2042 is now available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
