EA has refused to answer how many sales Battlefield 2042 has seen since releasing last November. Stating that it made up "less than 10% of our revenue," they did confirm that the often-maligned shooter "did not meet expectations."

As reported by MP1ST, EA was questioned about Battlefield 2042's sales performance in during yesterday's quarterly financial call. Refusing to give a definite answer, EA EVP & chief financial officer Blake Jorgensen replied, stating:

"We’re refraining from trying to give updates on units because we know that there are…remember Battlefield is less than 10% of our revenue, so I’m not sure what you would do with that. Clearly, we sold less units than we thought we would, but what I would say is that, remember these games are long-tail, and our goal is to add new content, new ways to play, new excitements to stretch this out."

During that same meeting, EA CEO Andrew Wilson spoke about the game not meeting fan expectations when it was launched. He said:

“Developing this game with our teams working from home for nearly two years ultimately proved to be challenging. Through our processes for testing and preparation, we believed the experience was ready to be put in our players’ hands. We launched with strong stability; however, as more players experienced the full game, it became clear there were unanticipated performance issues that we would need to address. Some of the design choices we made with the game also did not resonate with everyone in our community.”
