DICE hasn't confirmed an exact release date for Season 1 of Battlefield 2042 but notable leaker Tom Henderson claims the new season will begin on June 9, 2022.

So far, dataminer "Temporyal" claims Battlefield 2042 Season 1 will contain a brand-new Specialist, new vehicles, new playlists, and a guided rocket launcher gadget capable of dealing huge amounts of damage.

The above leak points toward the arrival of Lis. Known as the "Guardian of Gdansk," the Specialist includes a guided rocket launcher as its speciality while its trait remains a mystery.

Dataminers believe that Season 1 will feature a brand-new map known as "Exposure." Leaks claim the map is located in British Columbia, Canada while developers say the map aims to "create a more fun and tactical experience."
There's no guarantee the map will arrive in Season 1 but we do expect it to appear in the not too distant future.
Battlefield 2042 Season 1 Improvements
Prior to Season 1 starting, DICE developers have shared information on how it aims to fix various issues that have affected the game. The Season 1 update will include new animation modelling to simulate more natural body movement.
