EA has confirmed that Battlefield 2042 Update 3.3 will be delayed until March 2022, having originally been planned for this month. This follows recent news that Battlefield 2042 Season One was also being delayed until Summer 2022.
Revealed through Twitter, EA confirmed this extra time for Update 3.3 will allow the developers - DICE and Ripple Effect - to improve the quality. However, a hotfix will drop later today, offering stability improvements on all platforms.
Battlefield 2042 Update 3.3 Delayed to March After Originally Slated for February Release
Evidently, EA are aware of the negative feedback surrounding Battlefield 2042, so it's unsurprising to see them being careful. During a recent earnings report, CEO Andrew Wilson stated:
“Developing this game with our teams working from home for nearly two years ultimately proved to be challenging. Through our processes for testing and preparation, we believed the experience was ready to be put in our players’ hands. We launched with strong stability; however, as more players experienced the full game, it became clear there were unanticipated performance issues that we would need to address. Some of the design choices we made with the game also did not resonate with everyone in our community.”
Battlefield 2042 is now available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC. Make sure to follow us for more gaming news and updates as it happens.
