Electronic Arts has finally unveiled the very first look of its ambitious addition to the Battlefield franchise. As of now, the next Battlefield game is in the final stages of development and is inviting players to be part of the game development via a closed testing program called Battlefield Labs.
Battlefield Labs is a community-driven testing program designed to involve players and let them test the game early and give feedback.
How to Sign Up for Battlefield Labs
Signing up for Battlefield Labs is pretty straightforward. Players just have to do the following:
- Visit EA's Official Website: Visit EA's dedicated Battlefield Labs page to access detailed information about the program and the sign-up process.
- Complete the Registration Form: Fill out the provided form with accurate personal information, including your gaming preferences and experience. This data assists EA in selecting a diverse group of testers.
- Join the Official Discord Server: After registering, if you are lucky enough, you'll receive an invitation to EA's official Battlefield Labs Discord server via email (playtesting@ea.com).
This platform will serve as the primary communication channel between participants and developers. By the way, EA has also released a trailer revealing Battlefield Labs, which you can take a look at below.
What is Next After Signing Up?
The testing will happen in phases, starting with pre-alpha testing. This is the earliest version of the game, and only a small number of players(around 1000) mostly from Europe and North America will get access to test it.
As of now, EA has not provided any specific dates for the testing phases of the upcoming Battlefield game.
However, the company has announced that the first phase of testing is set to begin soon.
At this stage, the developers have mentioned that their focus area would be game basics which is its gunplay mechanics, movement, map flow, and overall game feel.
The selected testers will have to share feedback through a private Discord server that will help the team smooth out the rough edges before moving forward with the actual release.
Of course, if you’re lucky enough to get in, there are some rules. All the testers will have to sign a non-disclosure agreement. As per this agreement, you won’t be able to share screenshots, videos, or details outside the official testing channels.
And don’t forget, your PC or console needs to meet the game’s requirements. After all, there’s no avail of signing up if your setup can’t handle it.
The new Battlefield game is slated to release in the first quarter of 2026.
