California is known as one of the most popular places in the world, and being born here can be really cool. So what would it be like to do this in the text-based life simulation BitLife? The answer is definitely yes. Because being born in California is as attractive in BitLife as it is in reality.

Our comprehensive BitLife California guide will discuss how you can ensure your character is born and raised in California and detail the specific benefits of living there.

How to be born in California in BitLife

  • To ensure your BitLife character is born in California, select the California option when creating your character.
  • When building your new character, you can choose their country of origin, state, and city.
  • Choose the United States and a Californian city such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, or San Jose.
  • Selecting a Californian city guarantees the desired Californian upbringing for your character.

So that's it. It's that simple to be born in California in BitLife. All you have to do is choose one of the California cities before starting a new life. This ensures that your character will have the desired upbringing in California.

California cities in the life simulation include Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, and San Jose. From now on, you have to enjoy California and its nature, have a good childhood, and become a successful person.

Perks of being born in California in BitLife

While you might expect living in California to come with exclusive BitLife benefits, you might be surprised to learn that it offers very few tangible gameplay changes. The differences you'll note are minor, and there aren't exclusive dialogue options, jobs, or choices to make.

Instead, the changes are rather surface-level, with tweaks like dollars as the main currency, being able to drive from 16 years old, and a generally more affluent environment. However, that's more or less it, and living in California in BitLife won't be as noticeable as doing so in real life.

How do I complete the BitLife Legally Blonde challenge?

The main benefit to living in California in BitLife, as of present, is its ties to the Legally Blonde challenge. This was a limited-time event where you needed to complete a list of set objectives. For the Legally Blonde BitLife challenge, those are as follows:

  • Be born a female in California
  • Have a chihuahua named Bruiser
  • Be initiated into a sorority
  • Get accepted into law school with 100% looks

As you can see, being born in California was the very first requirement for this challenge, so you'll need to make sure you've done that; otherwise, there's no chance of completing it. While there's no tangible reward for completing the Legally Blonde challenge, you did get a nice statistic telling you where in the world rankings you stand for finishing it. As such, you'll definitely get bragging rights if you manage to complete it in an impressive time. However, the Legally Blonde challenge has since finished in early December 2021, so you sadly won't be able to complete it now.

That's everything you need to know about BitLife California. While it's not quite as luxurious and high-flying as living in real California, it's a key access point to one of the game's recent challenges.
