Call of Duty Vanguard is now out across the world, much to the excitement of the community who are already getting to grips with a new arsenal of weapons available to use in multiplayer. Due to the World War 2 setting, some weapons appear in more titles than others, and this is the case with the PPSh-41 submachine gun (SMG). Season 2 nears the halfway stage, the PPSh rarely features in the loadouts of players despite being hugely effective in close-quarters.
Featuring one of the fastest fire rates in the entire category, the PPSh is more than capable of dealing with nearby targets in the blink of an eye but at longer distances, it's extremely tricky to control at longer distances. Thankfully, there are a few attachments to bolster its performance in that particular area. In this guide find the best PPSh attachments and best PPSh loadout for Vanguard multiplayer.
What Is The Best PPSH Vanguard Loadout?
After spending plenty of time mastering this particular SMG, we've found a set of attachments that dominates in close-quarters engagements. Check out the loadout below!
Attachment | Name |
---|---|
Muzzle | Strife Compensator |
Barrel | ZAC 300mm |
Optic | MK. 8 Reflector |
Stock | Kovalevskaya Skeletal |
Underbarrel | M1941 Hand Stop |
Magazine | 7.62mm Korenko 71 Round Mags |
Ammo Type | Lengthened |
Rear Grip | Rubber Grip |
Proficiency | Tight Grip |
Kit | Quick |
This build capitalises on the deadly rate of fire. With a huge magazine equipped, there's no need to reload on a regular basis which allows you to eliminate multiple enemies without having to dip out of the action.
How to Unlock
The PPSh is the final SMG to unlock in Vanguard. Simply work your way to Level 51 to get your hands on it. This is a lengthy process so if you've got any Double XP Tokens lying around, be sure to use them to rank up as quickly as possible.
The Best PPSh Attachments in Vanguard
Due to its lack of performance in mid and long-distance gunfights, this particular build focuses on the strengths of the PPSh, meaning that it will dominate in almost every single close-range scenario.
- Muzzle: Strife Compensator
- Barrel: ZAC 300mm
- Optic: MK. 8 Reflector
- Stock: Kovalevskaya Skeletal
- Underbarrel: M1941 Hands Stop
- Magazine: 7.62mm Korenko 71 Round Mags
- Ammo Type: Lengthened
- Rear Grip: Rubber Grip
- Proficiency: Tight Grip
- Kit: Quick
This combination of attachments significantly bolsters the firepower of the PPSh while managing to tame the uncontrollable recoil. The M1941 Hand Stop and Strife Compensator significantly reduce the kick produced by the rate of fire while the other attachments enable you to navigate the map with ease thanks to their mobility bonuses.
The Best PPSh Loadout in Vanguard
Once the best attachments have been equipped to the PPSh, the rest of the loadout needs to be fine-tuned in order to maximise success in those often hectic close-quarters gunfights. The best Perks, Equipment, and Field Upgrade can provide huge advantages over the opposition when used in the right situations.
Perks
- Perk 1: Ghost
- Perk 2: Forward Intel
- Perk 3: Double Time
Ghost will keep your location concealed from any Spy Planes patrolling the skies when you move around the map, perfect for springing any kind of ambush on unsuspecting opposition. Forward Intel is often overlooked but in Assault and Blitz Combat Pacing matches, the larger minimap makes it much easier to see more players in the nearby area.
Lastly is Double Time. The increase in Tactical Sprint length enables you to navigate the map at breakneck speed but be sure not to get caught out by an assault rifle player patiently holding an angle waiting for your arrival.

Equipment
- Lethal: Gammon Bomb
- Tactical: Stim
The ability to cause huge explosive damage using the Gammon Bomb is ideal, especially when it explodes as soon as it touches something, whether it's a surface or a nearby enemy. As you' 'll be up close and personal with the opposition a lot of the time, Stim is a crucial part of this PPSh loadout. Use it when low on health and get straight back into the action.
Field Upgrade
- Dead Silence
Dead Silence is another integral part of this loadout. The silent footsteps combined with the ability to go completely undetected by Spy Planes allows you to traverse the map without most of the opposition knowing your location.
Is The PPSh Good in Vanguard?
Despite the lack of mid-range performance, the PPSh is a viable choice if you're a player that loves to run and gun the opposition. This build is the perfect loadout to sprint around the map, leaving a trail of destruction in your path. It may not be anywhere near the versatile MP40, but the PPSh is incredibly fun to use.
