Season 2 of Vanguard is officially underway, much to the excitement of the competitive community. The anticipated debut of Ranked Play is right around the corner and is likely to become one of the very best competitive playlists the shooter franchise has ever seen.

Call of Duty Vanguard Ranked Play Release Date

After a short delay, Vanguard Ranked Play rolled out on February 18, much to the excitement of players looking to get their fix of competitive action.

As the above statement mentions, Sledgehammer Games has joined forces with Treyarch to develop Ranked Play for Vanguard. For some, this will be music to their ears, especially with Treyarch's past experience when building a competitive playlist.

As expected, there are a range of rewards players can earn through Vanguard Ranked play. Here's a complete list of rewards and how to unlock them:

Placement Rewards

  • New Calling Card and Emblem unlocked every 5 Ranks.
  • Royalty Solange Operator Skin, animated Calling Card, and Emblem once Rank 50 is reached.

Season 3 Rewards

  • Competitor Sticker - Complete 5 Placement matches.
  • Defuse You Lose Spray - Win 10 matches.
  • Dap Up Charm - Win 25 matches.
  • Pro Issue MP40 Blueprint - Win 50 matches.
  • Season 3 Veteran Camo - Win 100 matches.
  • Good Game Charm - Finish a Ladder event in the top ten.
  • Pro Issue Automaton Blueprint - Finish a Ladder event in the top five.
  • Season 3 Ladder Champion Camo - Finish a Ladder event in first.
  • Animated Emblem - Awarded at the end of Season 3 based on final Skill Division.
  • Skill Division Charm - Win 10 games in that Skill Division.
  • Ranked Legend Solange Operator Skin - Win 25 matches in Master division or higher.

Call of Duty Vanguard Ranked Play Divisions & Ratings

Skill Divisions have returned as part of Vanguard Ranked Play. The divisions will place players of similar skill in matches, guaranteeing plenty of competition. Here are the Skill Divisions in Vanguard Ranked Play:

  • Contender
  • Specialist
  • Advanced
  • Expert
  • Elite
  • Master
  • Challenger
  • Top 250

In addition to the Skill Divisions, each player will have a skill rating. The number will increase by scoring victories and decrease with every defeat.

If you want to compete alongside your friends, certain matchmaking restrictions may apply depending on your rank. Here's a full breakdown of Vanguard Ranked Play matchmaking rules and restrictions:

  • Master and Challenger players can play with players up to one adjacent Skill Division away.
  • Elite players can play with players from two Skill Divisions away
  • Players below Elite can play without any restrictions.
  • Restrictions are determined by the player with the highest Skill Division in the party.
