The launch of Call of Duty: Vanguard received a mixed reception from the often-vocal community, with some enjoying Sledgehammer Games' latest release and others expressing their frustrations with the game. The available range of weapons in multiplayer has been well-received, with one particular assault rifle standing out from the crowd. With Season 3 on the Horizon,
The STG 44 has featured in previous titles and its appearance in Vanguard has been met with plenty of positivity thanks to its low levels of recoil and moderate rate of fire. With a total of ten attachment slots available to select, it can be tricky to determine what the best STG 44 attachments are but after a bit of testing, we've found an unbeatable combination. You'll find the best STG 44 Vanguard loadout to use in this guide!
What Is The Best STG 44 Vanguard Loadout?
With the Vanguard cycle nearing the halfway point, we've had plenty of time to find the very best combination of attachments for this immensely powerful assault rifle. Check out the full attachment list in the table below.

Best STG 44 Vanguard Attachments
With a reworked Gunsmith providing even more customisation options, there are plenty of choices that make the STG one of the best Vanguard assault rifles to use in multiplayer. Here are the best attachments to select:
- Muzzle: F8 Stabilizer
- Barrel: VDD 760MM 05B
- Optic: Spitfire MK.3 Reflector
- Stock: VDD 27 Precision
- Underbarrel: M1941 Handstop
- Magazine: 9mm 24 Rnd Fast Mags
- Ammo Type: Lengthened
- Rear Grip: Stippled Grip
- Proficiency: Sleight of Hand
- Kit: Fully Loaded
Starting off, the Stabilizer provides an immediate reduction in recoil, improving accuracy levels and an increase in damage range alongside the VDD 760MM 05B barrel which also improves the STG's performance at longer distances. Selecting an Optic is purely personal preference so we went with the MK.3 Reflector as it gave us a crystal-clear image of the intended target.
With the choice of barrel slowing down the aim-down sight speed, the choice of the Precision Stock brings the speed up which is crucial in order to react quickly to any opposition. To bolster the damage output even further, the Russian Short Mags are the ideal choice, enabling you to shoot through those breakable surfaces as fast as possible.
Vital as a Proficiency may seem strange but when it expands the critical hitboxes, it's incredibly easy to eliminate an opponent using a minimal amount of ammunition. It's likely that you'll be using the STG in the more congested areas of the map with plenty of enemies around which is why we've opted for the Fully Loaded Kit to guarantee no shortages of ammo.
Best Vanguard STG 44 Perks and Equipment
Perks
Once the best set of attachments has been equipped, it's just as important to choose the best Perks for the job. Here are our favourite Perks to use with the STG 44:
- Fortified (Perk 1)
- Forward Intel (Perk 2)
- Double Time (Perk 3
This combination of Perks features selections that are essential ingredients for success. Fortified increases your resistance to any incoming explosives while Forward Intel highlights the spawn location of the opposition The third and final Perk we selected is Double Time for an increase in Tactical Sprint length.
Secondary Weapon
- Machine Pistol
Perhaps the strongest secondary weapon, the Machine Pistol comes with an insane rate of fire that can make light work of an enemy when there's no time to reload the STG's magazine.
Equipment
- Lethal: Gammon Bomb
- Tactical: Stim
The Gammon Bomb explodes as soon as it makes contact with a surface or an opponent, making it ideal for clearing busy areas of the map such as objectives and populated buildings. Stim is incredibly useful to stay in the heart of the action for longer periods of time. Using it wisely can be the difference between scoring another Killstreak or being eliminated prematurely!
Is The STG 44 Good In Vanguard?
After spending the vast majority of the beta weekends using the STG 44, I can safely say that it's one of the very best weapons in the entire game. With non-existent recoil levels combined with huge increases in damage output and bullet velocity, the STG 44 is unbeatable in mid-range engagements.
If you're looking for a versatile weapon that can contend in almost any in-game scenario, I highly recommend ranking up the STG and using it to your advantage.
