How to Unlock MG42 in Warzone Pacific

The MG42 is more desirable for new players, initially at least, since it unlocks at Rank 4. Obviously, not every attachment we recommend is available at that rank, but you'll be able to get a feel for the gun and its quirks early on.

The MG42's biggest issue is the high level of recoil that comes with its fast rate of fire. We've put together a build that reduces that while building on some of its other strengths.

• Optic: ZF4 3.5x Rifle Scope

• Underbarrel: M1941 Hand Stop
• Magazine: 13MM Anti-Material 125 Round Drums
• Ammo Type: Lengthened
• Rear Grip: Rubber Grip or Fabric Grip
• Perk 1: Tight Grip
• Perk 2: Fully Loaded

The VDD 890MM 32M Luftschutz, Hand Stop, and VDD Stock all help reign in the MG42's recoil, giving you greater stability without sacrificing anything significant in return. We've opted for the 13MM Anti-Material Drums thanks to their higher capacity and slight boost in bullet velocity. The MG42 has slow reload times anyway, but a larger magazine means you won't have to reload often. Fully Loaded also helps with ammo. Since you won't be moving fast with the MG42, we've built it to function as a long-range weapon, hence the zoom-able ZF4 Scope, Lengthened ammo type, and greater accuracy thanks to Tight Grip.

This build lets you sprint faster with Double Time and also gives you the option to equip an SMG if things get hairy at close range.

Speaking of close encounters, this equipment combo lets you slow enemies down and deal with them at ranges your weapons might not otherwise be able to handle.

Is the MG42 Good in Warzone?

Yes, especially if you're just starting out. The DP27 is easier to deal with and functions equally well at long range, so it's worth switching to once you've got some levels under your belt. Until then, if you need an LMG, this is your best bet.
