Is The DMR 14 Still Good In Warzone?

The DMR 14 tactical rifle dominated the Warzone metagame during the first season of Black Ops Cold War integration.

Since the launch of Season 2 and the presence of Zombies in Verdansk, the days of DMR-zone are long gone after Raven Software issued two hefty nerfs to the rifle in a bid to restore some form of balance.

With other weapons contesting for the title of best weapon, the popularity of the DMR has plummeted.

Despite its drop in popularity, is it still a viable weapon to be using as part of a loadout?

Is The DMR 14 Still Good?

Although the nerfs did reduce the overall levels of damage significantly, the DMR is still a solid weapon to be used when roaming the streets of Verdansk or on Rebirth Island.

The rifle is more than capable of performing in mid-range situations but it does fall short at longer distances.

Recoil levels are also a pertinent flaw with the DMR. After every shot fired, the kick generated is disorienting and makes it impossible to land any follow-up shots with the same accuracy as the first.

The recoil can be bought under control by equipping the right attachments, but what are they?

DMR 14 Warzone Best Attachments

  • Agency Silencer (Muzzle)
  • 20.8” Task Force (Barrel)
  • Axial Arms 3x (Optic)
  • 30 RND (Ammunition)
  • Field Agent Foregrip (Underbarrel)

This particular combination of attachments brings down the recoil to much more manageable levels while the axial arms optic provides a crystal-clear image of the intended target.

The addition of the task force barrel does improve the damage drop-off and compared to other rifles frequently appearing in the metagame, it still has its place.

Should You Be Using It?

If you’re looking for a weapon to dominate the mid-range engagements, then I would highly recommend using the DMR 14.

It doesn’t perform as well as it once did, but with this set of attachments equipped, it’s still a solid weapon to be using in your loadouts.
