Since the release of Modern Warfare and Warzone, players receive seasonal drops of content packed with everything ranging from new weapons, new multiplayer maps, and new playable Operators to use in matches.
Following the rollout of update 1.56, another teaser ahead of Season 3 and the imminent arrival of Godzilla appeared much to the excitement of players.
In addition, a leaker has managed to uncover a number of new in-game files suggesting that the current cycle will come to an end after Season 5 rather than the end of Season 6.
No Season 6 for Warzone Pacific and Vanguard
Modern Warfare and Black Ops Cold War cycles contained six seasons of post-launch content and according to notable Call of Duty leaker 'Reality,' the recently added files suggest that Vanguard and Warzone Pacific's cycle will end after five seasons.
The switch to Caldera and the return to a World War 2 setting for the annual release was met with a mixed reception from players who often express frustration and disappointment with the latest instalments in the franchise.
Despite the possibility of five seasons, players welcomed the news with plenty of positivity. Many fans suggest the decision to cut the cycle short means the next Call of Duty title will launch sooner than expected.

With only three full seasons of Vanguard and Warzone Pacific remaining, there's a high chance of Caldera and Call of Duty's latest World War 2 title going out with a bang. Attention is already turning towards the launch of Modern Warfare 2 and a second Warzone title so it wouldn't be surprising if Activision abandoned a final season in favour of a slightly earlier release.
