The Season 3 Reloaded update for Warzone contains a wealth of new additions and changes to the battle royale. Alongside the arrival of an Underground Transit System and a number of weapon buffs and nerfs, the mid-season update injects a breath of fresh air into the game.
When other battle royale games set the total number of players at 100, Raven Software went a step further, increasing the Warzone player count to 150.
With the second half of Season 3 underway, the developer announces it's reduced the Caldera player count by 20%.
Warzone Player Count Reduced
Within the patch notes, Raven Software confirms the number of players in a standard Caldera match will fall from 150 to 120. The change impacts solos, duos, trios, and quads matches but won't affect any limited-time modes (LTM) that often feature huge numbers of players dropping into the action.
Raven Software is no stranger to lowering the player count in Warzone. In December 2021, the developer implemented a temporary decrease in player numbers due to issues causing players to disconnect from matches.
Warzone Season 3 Reloaded Changes
A smaller number of players jumping into the action isn't the only change in Season 3 Reloaded. Raven Software has overhauled the HUD to provide players with more information alongside increasing the base health levels in Rebirth Island to 150HP, bringing it in line with the other battle royale modes.
Early feedback from players suggests the change isn't proving popular, with some questioning the thought process from Raven Software.
If more players continue with the same line of thought, there's a chance the Warzone player count will return to 150 players but in the meantime, players will have to adapt to the change.
