Season 1 Reloaded for Warzone Pacific is finally underway, much to the excitement of players dropping into an all-new era for the hugely popular battle royale. A weapon that has regularly appeared in many loadouts is the PPSh-41 submachine gun (SMG) from Black Ops Cold War.
The iconic SMG arrived as part of the launch of Season 3, making it one of the most recent SMGs to be added into the ever-expanding arsenal.
Synonymous for its incredibly fast rate of fire and excellent mobility, the SMG is the perfect weapon of choice for close-quarters engagements. Despite it falling behind some of the other SMGs available, the PPSH is still a solid choice with the right combination of attachments equipped.
With so many attachments to select in the Gunsmith, what exactly is the best loadout and attachment combination to be using?

Cold War PPSH Warzone
While the PPSH may not have the highest damage output in the SMG category, its fast rate of fire certainly compensates for it, giving the weapon a fast time to kill.
The high rate of fire does come at a cost. Recoil levels are extremely difficult to tame without the right set of attachments bringing them down to much more controllable levels.
Other than the tricky recoil, the PPSH is a solid performer in close-range combat and with a bit of trigger discipline, it's certainly capable of making an impact at longer distances.
Best Cold War PPSH Warzone Attachments
After ranking up the PPSH, here's a set of attachments that will improve performance and control the recoil:
- Gru Suppressor (Muzzle)
- 15.7" Task Force (Barrel)
- Spetsnaz PKM Stock (Stock)
- Spetsnaz Grip (Underbarrel)
- 55 Rnd Drum (Ammunition)
This combination of attachments does wonders to tame the vertical recoil, providing improvements in accuracy levels. The choice of the barrel extends damage range, enabling the PPSH to be used at much longer distances rather than only when you're within a few inches of an opponent.
Staying in the action is often the key to success in Warzone, which is why I selected the 55 Rnd Drum magazine. With over 20 additional bullets in the PPSH, it reduces the need to reload on a regular basis, allowing you to remain in the fight for much longer.
Best Cold War PPSH Warzone Loadout
Secondary - AK-47 (Cold War)
- Spetsnaz Compensator (Muzzle)
- SUSAT Multizoom (Optic)
- 18.2” VDV Reinforced (Barrel)
- Spetsnaz Grip (Underbarrel)
- VDV 60 Rnd Fast Mag (Magazine)
Thanks to the latest wave of weapon tuning, the AK-47 from Cold War is arguably one of the strongest assault rifles in the entire game.
This particular combination of attachments enables you to deal with any opposition from almost any distance with ease, making it the perfect addition alongside the PPSH.
Grenades
- Frag Grenade (Lethal)
- Heartbeat Sensor (Tactical)
Selecting utility is often personal preference but I went with the frag grenade and heartbeat sensor combination.
It's difficult to avoid a perfectly-cooked frag grenade and is a sure-fire way of scoring a few more kills during a match.
The heartbeat sensor is a standard choice, providing the location of any nearby enemies.
Perks
- Double Time (Perk 1)
- Overkill (Perk 2)
- Amped (Perk 3)
The addition of Double Team utilises the incredible mobility of the PPSH even further, doubling the length of Tactical Sprint speed which makes it very easy to dart in and around the various buildings on the map.
Overkill grants you the ability to equip two primary weapons in the same loadout while Amped provides a significant decrease to weapon swap speed, enabling you switch between the SMG and the AK-47 quickly depending on the situation you find yourself in.
Is The Cold War PPSH Good In Warzone?
Once I managed to tame the recoil, the PPSH is a very strong weapon in Warzone.
The fast rate of fire shreds through armour with ease, making it one of the best close-range weapons to be using.
If you're after a mobile secondary to accompany an assault rifle or sniper, I highly recommend the PPSH and this lethal combination of attachments.
