Despite Season 1 Reloaded for Warzone and Vanguard being in full swing, attention quickly turned to the launch of Season 2 for both titles as the community prepared for the first major content drop of 2022.
With a couple of weeks before its launch, Call of Duty publisher Activision Blizzard has announced that the start of the season has been pushed back.
While the news may come as a disappointment to some, the reasoning behind it makes a lot of sense considering the current state of multiplayer and Caldera.
Warzone Pacific and Vanguard Season 2 Delay
The news posted on the Call of Duty Twitter account on January 19, 2022, explained the decision behind the delay of Season 2, revealing that "more needs to be done" in order to address issues impacting Vanguard and the battle royale.
"We will use this additional development time to deliver updates, including optimizations to gameplay, game balancing, to fix game stability and bugs, and to ensure an overall level of polish to improve the experience for players across Vanguard, Warzone Pacific, Black Ops Cold War, and Modern Warfare" explained Activision.
Warzone Pacific and Vanguard Season 2 Release Date
Thankfully, the delay isn't too long. Season 2 for Warzone and Vanguard will now commence on February 14th rather than the intended start date of February 2nd. With the additional development time, it will be interesting to see what Sledgehammer Games, Treyarch, Infinity Ward, and Raven Software can achieve in order to improve performance and address issues the community has demanded fixes for.
