If you follow the gaming scene this year, your 2024 gaming bingo card would probably have some entries about Assassin's Creed Shadows or Black Myth: Wukong. You might've even had some for Helldivers 2 and Stellar Blade, but I'm going to be 100% sure you never expected Nintendo to release an actual music app before the year ends. With so many recent leaks about the Switch 2 over the past few months, players did not expect Nintendo to give Spotify a run for their money.

The Nintendo Music App allows players to listen to classic Nintendo tunes. From Animal Crossing to Splatoon, fans can listen to their favorite video game soundtracks as long as they have a Nintendo Online subscription. Since the app's release, Nintendo fans have been sharing the first music title they searched on the app, hoping to spark that sweet nostalgia again.

Originally posted on Reddit by user u/jf0ssGremlin, they shared a screenshot of the app playing the ever-popular Wii U Shop Channel's Main Theme and said it was the first thing they looked for. Some fans also loved the nostalgic Wii U Shop Channel theme, with one sharing one of the internet's classic gems based on the theme during the early 2000s.

One fan shared that the first music they searched for was a song from Donkey Kong Country. Another said that they searched for Gusty Garden Galaxy. Others mentioned that they chose the same Wii U Shop Main Theme song and extended it to 60 minutes, a nice feature Nintendo added should you prefer to play one song for longer periods.

While many Nintendo fans are enthusiastic about the new music app, others may have to wait for further updates as the app is limited to selected countries only. Those outside the serviced regions will have to find other ways to listen to their favorite video game themes until Nintendo updates their services.
