A video game fan asked the gaming community what other names have the same effect as those mentioned above and many gamers shared which video game characters come up to mind when they hear these ordinary names.

Originally posted on Reddit by user u/ConsequenceChoice222, they asked which common names instantly remind gamers of a video game aside from Mario from the Super Mario games, and many agreed that the name Lara from Tomb Raider's Lara Croft is one of the most typical names that is closely tied to a video game title. It is followed by the name Trevor from the character in GTA V, which may indicate how old the game is and gamers are now ready for GTA 6.
The post continued with more names such as Gordon, Luigi, and the infamous Shaun glitch from the video game Heavy Rain. Other also mentioned the name Isaac, from either the Binding of Isaac game or the popular Golden Sun series. The names Joel, Arthur, and Leon followed which many agreed that these names are common enough and yet can easily bring up video games in mind.
Others joked and mentioned Ganondorf and Zelda, considering how unique these names are. Another commenter quipped that they have met several Sephiroths in their life.
While many video games nowadays have intricate and complex customization options and let players name their characters, some video game names will always stick and become an integral part of the gaming culture, just like the ever-famous Super Mario.
