Are you a Dino Crisis fan desperate for a sequel, remake, or remaster? Well, you can now play an Unreal Engine 5 version of the beloved cult classic. Sadly, there's a catch.

The big but is that the Dino Crisis UE5 version is a fanmade project. Developed single-handedly by Stefano Cagnani, the Project Crisis remake aims to spark some interest in the franchise, showing Capcom that they are missing out by not bringing Dino Crisis back from the dead.

Since this is a one-person project, don't expect it to take full advantage of Unreal Engine 5, however, the trailer does show us that Cagnani is making significant upgrades to how the game looks while keeping that same feeling of isolation the first game had.

While the project is far from complete, if you're a dino-loving enthusiast you can try out the free demo by going to Cagnani's official site for this fanmade project.

According to the developer, this project has taken inspiration from the recent Resident Evil remakes that have switched from a fixed-camera perspective to a third-person camera that allows for a more dynamic and less static experience.

The fact that Dino Crisis remains a forgotten franchise is undoubtedly one of the biggest mysteries surrounding Capcom. While it was understandable a few years back when the company was struggling to put out hits and needed to play it safe, now that the developer is likely living its second golden age it would be the perfect time to experiment with lesser-known IPs.

Dino Crisis is back! Kind of...

Just in the last six years, Capcom has put out eight of its 10 most-sold videogames ever, and that's not including Resident Evil 4 Remake or Street Fighter 6, two of their best-performing games from 2023 which are still consistently selling extremely well and climbing the charts.

Hopefully, the Dino Crisis fanmade project sparks enough interest in Capcom to bring it back finally. Even if the hype doesn't translate to sales, there's no better time to take risks than the present for the Japanese company.
