Shytoshi Kusama, the lead developer of Shiba Inu, recently revealed new information concerning Shiba Eternity, the Shiba Inu token's official video game which has recently been launched in Australia.
While sharing new details via the Shiba Inu Discord server, Kusama further announced that the game will play a crucial role in burning SHIB tokens.
In a series of interesting announcements concerning the Shiba Inu roadmap, Kusama further declared a notable change, adding that 5% of the game's revenue will be used to burn SHIB.
5% of all Shiba Eternity revenue will be used to burn SHIB
During a community chat with Kusama on the Shiba Inu Discord server, the lead developer revealed that 5% of Shiba Eternity's revenue will be used to burn its native crypto token Shiba Inu.
While explaining the plan in detail, Kusama stressed the fact that the Shiba Inu community must first download the game in large numbers to push the game's rank to the top of the app store.
In Kusama's words:
With your help, by simply downloading the game, we will be able to push the game to the top of app stores and hopefully generate revenue from gamers outside the shib community. This is a free way to help Shib, but wait, how does it help Shib? Good question. One thing we want is to burn 5% of all profits, period. Before fudders scoff..look at the revenue of comparable games like Hearthstone and then do the math.
During a Shiba Eternity Twitter Space Event the team revealed that the game will officially launch on October 1 2022.
The launch date has amiably been referred to as 'download day' by the Shiba Inu community.
The Shiba Eternity game is a play-to-earn game centred around collecting trading cards.
Players can collect and acquire 500+ cards featuring hundreds of unique battle traits, alongside making use of in-game NFTs called Shiboshis.
Aside from launching Shiba Eternity, the Shiba Inu team has several integral projects lined up for 2022, starting with Shibarium, Shiba Inu's L2 blockchain, which is scheduled to go live by the end of Q3 2022.
