Floki Inu will be exposed to football fans across the world after the memecoin scored sleeve sponsorship deals with football clubs in India and Spain.
Indian Super League team Kerala Blasters FC and the La Liga side Cádiz CF will both feature the Floki Inu logo on their kits. The teams will also promote Floki via their home grounds' advertising displays.
Similar to its Tyson Fury partnership, Floki Inu hopes these deals will help the token further break into these markets.
A Floki Inu Football Derby?
As the world's most popular sport, Floki Inu touted the exposure opportunities that come with its latest partnerships.
“Cádiz will be playing with giants that include Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, and Real Madrid this season,” the memecoin tweeted yesterday. “The Floki brand will benefit from the massive exposure that the audience of these great football leagues attracts.”
Reflecting on its deal with Kerala Blasters, Floki said: “Floki’s strategic partnership with Kerala Blasters FC will help Floki go mainstream in India and introduce the Floki brand to over 100 million ISL fans all over the world.”
In a press release, Nikhil Bhardwaj, the Kerala Blasters Director, said the club is proud of the partnership. "This helps to keep the club up with the ever-happening changes in the world," he said.
"Floki and football go hand in hand with each other because this is the people’s cryptocurrency."
With SHIB also making a splash in India through its listing on CoinDCX, these partnerships may set up a battle between SHIB and Floki in the country.
Holders celebrated the new shirt sleeve sponsors, asking when they would be able to buy the shirts.
Floki Inu is not the first major memecoin sponsor of a football team, however. Crypto casino Stake.com sponsors Watford FC in a deal that means the Premier League side now wears the Dogecoin logo on its sleeve. Several football clubs also have their own Fan Tokens.
Floki's football sponsorships are the latest in its line of physical marketing campaigns. Last month, Floki Inu advertising appeared on the London Underground, which prompted a review from the Advertising Standards Agency.
So, when's the Floki Inu derby?
