In January, Twitter unveiled its plan to integrate NFTs as profile pictures, enabling users to access the NFTs they own use as their profile pictures. But the real question is how to set the NFTs you own as profile pictures on Twitter?
Last year, Twitter revealed its crypto team working on Web3 apps and NFTs, while also enabling Bitcoin tipping. The following announcement made by Twitter Blue is the latest extension in Twitter's embracing of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology.
NFTs have become increasingly popular over the last year, with the best NFTs and best NFT games attracting serious money. Let's take a look at how these NFTs can be set as profile pictures on Twitter.
How To Set NFT as Twitter Profile Pictures?
To set your profile picture as an NFT, users will need to be a member of Twitter Blue, and have connected their cryptocurrency wallet to their Twitter account. This is also only available for iPhone users at the moment.
Only available in the US, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand, Twitter Blue is a monthly subscription that costs $2.99. Once subscribed, complete the following steps.
- Users need to connect their crypto wallets with their Twitter accounts to access the NFTs owned by them.
- List of supported crypto wallets include Argent, Coinbase Wallet, Ledger Live, MetaMask, Rainbow, Trust Wallet
- Once the wallet is connected, Twitter will generate a verification code for authentication. Users can use that code to verify their login.
- Select the NFT you want to set your profile picture from your wallet's collection.
The profile pictures set as NFTs will be displayed in a hexagonal enclosed rather than a circle which will help users differentiate normal profile pictures for NFTs. Other users can also click on these NFTs to find more information about the creator, NFT description, collection, properties, etc.
It's also worth noting that NFTs on OpenSea that have been lazy-minted can still be used. This means that if you mint an NFT for free, Twitter still allows it to be your profile picture.
