The upcoming Shiba Inu Game remains on schedule, according to SHIB developer Shytoshi Kusama, meaning it could be just months away.
Posting on Twitter, the project lead gave an update about the game - perhaps the most anticipated project on the Shiba Inu roadmap aside from the Shibarium Layer-2.
After previously stating the Shiba game could launch in September, let’s look at the latest on the SHIB title.
Shiba Inu Game Still on Schedule
In a thread on Twitter about the game, Shytoshi replied to a tweet telling him to take his time with the game, stating: “We are on schedule.”
Games are notorious for facing delays. However, this statement from Shytoshi would suggest that there is nothing to worry about with the Shiba Inu Game.
PlaySide Studios previously stated their development term is 8 months, and the title would launch in Q1 FY2023. In Australia’s Financial Year, this puts it between July and September 2022. With Shytoshi also reaffirming a September launch is likely, it seems the Shiba game could be just four months away.
Of course, with four months still to go, there remains a lot of time for issues to arise. Delays could still come into play.
We’re also still not sure whether this will just mark the launch of the traditional mobile game, or whether the blockchain-based title will also launch at a similar time.
However, we might find out more about the game this week. In a tweet on May 21, Shytoshi said: “Next week things will begin to get interesting.”
He also teased the reveal of artwork for the game, also known as the SHIB Collectable Card Game (SHIB CCG). We already know the game will take inspiration from the SHIB ecosystem for these designs, even including a Ryoshi card.
This comes after Shytoshi provided an update on the game’s narrative in a recent blog post. He described the narrative as spanning the entire Shiba ecosystem.
