Cyberpunk 2077 has made itself relevant again in light of new updates, and players are once again becoming lost in the CD Projekt Red RPG as they await the eagerly anticipated Phantom Liberty expansion. As with most of these games, there are a handful of decisions for you to make which can impact what happens to yourself or others.

As you regularly embark on side missions and other ways to distract yourself in Night City, there is also an abundance of characters all around the city that will play an important role within the game. One of these NPCs is Dex, and you will have an important decision to make regarding them.

As part of a heist mission, you'll be tasked with a rather difficult decision. So in this guide, we explain the outcomes of betraying Dex or remaining loyal to them in Cyberpunk 2077.

Should you betray Dex in Cyberpunk 2077?

For context, this particular mission will feature Evelyn. She requests that you cut out the middle man, so you can each split the money involved in the current heist mission. The middle man, of course, is Dex. So when this scenario rolls around, you have a couple of decisions to make. Here is the first of two choices presented to you when speaking with Evelyn:

  • 'I will think about it.'
  • 'No way. Dex trusts me.'

By choosing 'I will think about it', you are simply ignoring Evelyn's suggestion. She will give you your number after you've thought about it. On the other hand, by choosing 'No way, Dex trusts me', you will be rejecting Evelyn's suggestion completely. Evelyn will still give you her phone number as a result, just in case you have a change of heart.

Up next, you will have the option to tell Dex about Evelyn's plans or not. If you choose to confess to Dex, he will obviously be rather annoyed about it, but he will give you a 40% pay rise. If you don't tell Dex, he'll never know of Evelyn's plan, and you'll get a 35% pay rise. Ultimately, both decisions result in little happening, but you will get more money for snitching on Evelyn's plan.

If you don't want to know what happens next, scroll along, as some meaty spoilers are about to be spilt regarding the aftermath of these decisions!

Regardless of whatever decisions you make here, Dex will unfortunately die either way in Cyberpunk 2077. Once the robbery is over, you'll be ambushed and knocked out. As you wake up, you'll be witness to the murder of Dex.

So with this in mind, there are no correct decisions to be made when betraying Dex. You have the opportunity to grab some more cash, but sadly, you can't play a part in the fate of Dex.
