We've seen numerous games celebrating sales milestones recently. Sony confirmed Ghost of Tsushima reached 8 million copies worldwide during CES 2022, while Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot has sold 4.5 million units since release.
Now, we've learned this may also be the case for Days Gone, Sony's 2019 action-adventure game by developer Bend Studio. As noted by Push Square, game director Jeff Ross mentioned on Twitter that by the time he'd left Sony, the game had already sold 8 million copies.

Days Gone Already Surpassed 8 Million Sold Copies, Director Says
Mentioning that Days Gone "gone on to sell more" since then,he's also claiming that it sold more than a million copies on Steam. Ross also revealed in his tweet that the local studio management made him and the others feel that the game "was a big disappointment."
As for the game itself, news about the cancellation of Days Gone 2 broke last April after the idea was pitched to Sony, with the company rejecting the proposal due to its "lengthy development and mixed critical reception."
