Dead Island 2, a game that has been shifted between developers multiple times since its initial reveal all the way back in 2014, is playable now.
A build of the game, with placeholder assets galore, has been shared through 4Chan. It is playable, but the gameplay is dated June 2015.

Eurogamer has confirmed that this iteration is from Yager, the developers behind Spec Ops: The Line. They left the project in July 2015. Here's the game in action.
The game still doesn't have a release date, despite likely arriving on the PS5 and Xbox Series X, meaning this could be the best opportunity you'll have to slap some zombies around in LA.
Dead Island 2 was revealed all the way back in 2014, at the start of this current console generation and Dambuster is the third studio to work on the title after publisher Koch Media moved the project from Yager Development to Sumo Digital, and then finally to Dambuster.
