Diablo 2 Resurrected might not have had the dream launch, but with patch 2.4 on the way, it seems like it's starting to find its feet, which will hopefully mean a renewed interest in the game when Ladder Season 1 drops. But in the meantime, some fans are wondering if the game might receive a 6th act as part of a post-launch expansion to the game. Keep reading, we'll explain why some fans think this could happen, along with Blizzard's official position on the matter.
How Many Acts Does Diablo 2 Have?
Diablo 2 Resurrected follows convention by including the same number of acts from the original game, plus its post-launch expansion Lord of Destruction.
This means that Diablo 2 Resurrected has 5 Acts at the time of writing. The first four from the original game, plus the fifth chapter added with the Lord of Destruction expansion.
It's slightly understandable then that some fans could believe Blizzard could be working on a brand new Act 6 for the game, since the company has previously added more acts with post-launch expansions. That being said, this was 20 years ago.
Diablo 2 Act 6 Leak Explained
The reason why so many fans believe Diablo 2 Resurrected could see a Act 6 release in the future stems from a recent leak/slip-of-the-tongue/intentional mislead from Popular Diablo 2 streamer MrLlamaSC.
Here's what he said, or didn't say, on his recent livestream:
"You want standard of heroes to do something? Well when Act 6...," MrLlama said, before quickly changing the subject and asking mods to delete all clips.
It does however seem to have been an intentional joke or mislead from the streamer, as Community Manager PezRadar had to actually address the rumours with an unequivocal statement, telling fans on Reddit:
"No. There is no Act VI. Speculation over.
And that brings us up to speed. So unfortunately it doesn't seem like we will see Act 6 for Diablo 2 Resurrected in the future. Thankfully, we have Diablo 4 to look forward to instead.
