This quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley unlocks when you reach Friendship level 7 with Timon. The main objective here is to make Timon’s ‘talk’ successful. He prides himself in playing a pivotal role in Simba’s development from being a small cub to becoming a Lion King.
To qualify for this Quest, you must have reached Friendship Level 4 with Pumbaa, where Quests like “Something’s Off” and “Fine Arts for Warthog” must be completed. Apart from the challenges, you must unlock Elsa, Moana, Donald Duck, Ariel, and Anna. Below, you’ll find an in-depth guide for the Timon Talk Quest. Read on to learn more.
Step 1: Creation of Timon’s Billboard

+ 2For his talk to be a success, Timon must first gather listeners.
To achieve this, he must advertise this new venture. That’s where you come in. You’ll be responsible for capturing Timon’s picture and creating a Billboard that discusses his upcoming Talk.
To craft the Billboards, you’ll need the following materials:
- x24 Softwoods
- x4 Ingots
- x24 Glass
Softwoods are available in multiple localities, including the Plaza, Forest of Valor, and Glade of Trust. The other two materials are craftables, where 1 Gold Ingot is produced from a combination of 5 Gold Nuggets and 1 Coal Ore. Glass is produced from a combination of 5 Sand and 1 Coal Ore.
Once you’ve gathered the materials, create 4 Billboards for Timon and place them in the following Biomes:
- Peaceful Meadow
- Forest of Valor
- Sunlit Plateau
- Dazzle Beach
Lastly, invite the Lion King to attend Timon’s Talk. Afterward, go inside Pride Rock, otherwise known as Simba’s house, to listen to Timon speak some wisdom for his listeners. In essence, the wise Meerkat lends out three pieces of advice to promote leadership in his listeners:
- Eat new foods.
- Admire the sky.
- Defeat someone’s uncle.
Unfortunately for Timon, his wisdom doesn’t reach the hearts of his listeners. They’re unconvinced. Since you’re the ruler of the Valley, Timon asks you to complete a set of objectives.
The first objective is “eating healthy foods”.
Step 2: Cooking Healthy Foods
Since Simba was raised on a healthy diet, Timon feels that his recipes can help Anna and Elsa unlock their leadership qualities effectively. And so, he asks you to accumulate the following (rather weird) ingredients to make his dish shine.
- Night Mushrooms
- Night Thorn Nuts
- Unfortunate-Fish Bones
- Clay-Soaked Salt
The initial two items can be accessed from the secret chamber of Frosted Heights, whereby the Unfortunate-Fish Bones are available in the Cursed Cave on Dazzle Beach. The last ingredient, the Clay-Soaked Salt, is acquired by fishing in the Sunlit Plateau.
Apart from the “strange ingredients” Timon asks you to collect, there are normal, sane-to-human ones as well:
- x1 Milk
- x1 Lettuce
- x2 Tomatoes
- x1 Cucumber
- x1 Chili Pepper
Now that you’ve acquired all the ingredients, move to a nearby Cooking Station to prepare the following two meals: Unfortunate-Fish Soup and Glowing Purple Salad. Once done, serve the dishes to both Anna and Elsa.
Unfortunately for Timon, yet again, the sisters don’t like what he prepared. They also fail to recognize how such meals would contribute to their leadership qualities.
Your next objective here is to be the bearer of bad news for the Meerkat. Now that the first mission is technically a disaster for Timon, he seeks the next person to help unlock their leadership potential. He chooses Moana. To convince her, you must bring fireflies from the Lion King Realm.
Step 3: Capturing Fireflies for Moana
click to enlarge + 2This objective aligns with Timon’s second wise advice which he gave during his Talk earlier: “Admire the sky.”
The underlying reason for this principle is that Timon remembers gazing at the sky often with Simba during his early days as a cub. And so, he feels it’s an essential trait to unlock one’s inner leader.
In the case of Moana, though, you must catch fireflies—precisely 2. To do so, head towards the Lion King Realm. Here, you’ll find one near the Log Bridge, and the other near the Makeshift Crafting Table. Once captured, give them to Moana.
Although the infamous Disney character admires the beauty of these captured fireflies, she fails to see how they’d help her unleash her inner leader. And so—yet again, you have to be the bearer of bad news for Timon.
Step 4: Help Donald Duck Find the Treasure Before His Uncle
You’d think one would give up, but this Meerkat has the heart of a lion. The last crucial objective is related to Timon’s third advice: “Defeat someone’s uncle.” For this, he chooses Donald and Scrooge Duck.
Before convincing Donald, you’ll find that the uncle-nephew pair are already competing against each other. Donald has a treasure map that contains three marked locations. Help him find the treasure, dig it up to reveal its content before his uncle to ensure his victory.
If done correctly, you’d have made Donald the victor. Sadly, though, he doesn’t feel this accomplishment made him a leader of any sort. Break the bad news to Timon.
Step 5: Talk to Simba and Pumbaa
Seeing the failure of all his efforts, Timon gets disheartened—and cheering him up won’t be easy—if you do it alone.
Talk to Simba and Pumbaa, who’ll make the Maskeet realize his true areas of proficiency: loyalty, bravery, and friendship. Hearing all this will cheer Timon and leave him with utmost clarity on what content he should add for his upcoming Timon Talk.
