DOTA 2 Tier List And The Best Heroes Right Now

After the release of Dawnbreaker in update 7.29, DOTA 2 now features over 115 heroes for players to choose from. Additionally, unlike a few other globally renowned MOBA games which put heroes behind paid walls, all the heroes available in DOTA 2 are free to play.

Similar to all MOBA games, DOTA 2 also has a meta cycle that causes various heroes to receive untimely nerfs and buffs. This further causes an ever-changing meta with no long-term stability for any hero.

Considering the vast number of heroes available in DOTA 2, listing all of them can be fairly challenging. However, we are going to highlight some of the best heroes that you should play in the current meta to pose a threat to your enemies from the draft phase.

DOTA 2 Tier List And Best Heroes To Use

Carry

  • Clinkz
  • Sven
  • Slark
  • Faceless Void
  • Ursa

After the release of update 7.30, the list of carry heroes that pose a threat in almost every situation is definitely Clinkz, Sven, and Slark.

Additionally, Ursa and Faceless Void are also pretty good in the current meta after various changes being introduced to other heroes. They are also capable of ganging up with their team to set up ganks and secure an advantage for their team.

Mid-Lane

  • Tinker
  • Invoker
  • Lina
  • Ember Spirit
  • Shadow Fiend

Tinker, Invoker, and Lina are capable of dishing out massive bursts of damage from the early-game stage. This allows these heroes to gain a massive advantage over the enemy heroes as well as control the map to cut off the enemy's farm.

Shadow Fiend and Ember Spirit are two of the best mid to late-game damage dealers with extremely efficient farming tools. This allows them to out-farm the enemy heroes and single-handedly snowball the outcome of an entire game.

Off-Lane

  • Lycan
  • Timbersaw
  • Underlord
  • Mars
  • Magnus

Lycan and Timbersaw love to hunt down enemy heroes by themselves, earning solo-kills for a huge chunk of experience. This allows these heroes to take over the entire map and cut off the enemy heroes from farming.

Mars, Underlord, and Magnus are utility-heavy heroes who can also set up advantageous fights for their team. These heroes' arsenal of abilities allows them to catch any enemy who gets caught off-guard for the rest of their team to join in and successfully execute a gank.

Roaming Support

  • Earthshaker
  • Enigma
  • Tusk
  • Windranger
  • Winter Wyvern

Earthshaker, Wind Ranger, and Tusk are capable of setting up ganks and team fights while also being able to create space for their allies to escape in case of an unfortunate scenario.

Enigma and Winter Wyvern, however, are fairly difficult to master. Having said that, in the right hands, these heroes can wreak havoc in any game with the abilities available in their arsenal.

Hard Support

  • Chen
  • Jakiro
  • Ancient Apparition
  • Vengeful Spirit
  • Skywrath Mage

Ancient Apparition, Chen, and Jakiro are extremely efficient team fight heroes who can overturn the entire course of a match. These heroes are also fairly strong in their lanes, allowing them to give a boost to their carry heroes during the laning phase.

Vengeful Spirit and Skywrath Mage are mostly damage-dealing supports. However, in the right hands, these heroes are capable of turning into core heroes based on their abilities alone.
