However, popular Dota 2 personality and community figure Wykrhm Reddy posted on his X account that Kez and Crownfall Act IV will arrive later today. Dota 2 players better hold off on throwing ranked games because Valve is here to save the day.

Dota 2 usually releases heroes right after The International. Many previous heroes, such as Pangolier and Dark Willow, were announced during the event and released a few weeks later. Recently, Valve has taken the time to provide more substantial updates, such as Crownfall, which possibly contributed to the delay in hero releases.

For players who took time off from playing Dota 2 for various reasons, including griefing teammates and sub-100 MMR scores, you might've missed tons about Crownfall and the latest story involving Kez. Here's a quick guide on what Crownfall is and what it brings to your Dota 2 gaming experience.

What Is Crownfall?

Crownfall is one of Dota 2's major content focusing on the story of Shendelzare, the Vengeful Spirit. The lore does not change anything about her past, but Crownfall improves upon her story by giving her a conclusion about what happened to her.

Crownfall tells her story through four different Acts. These Acts are cavern crawl maps with side stories and quests that players can unlock by playing Dota 2 games.

While a Crownfall Act is active, you can earn tokens that you can use to unlock the next path in your map and continue with the story of the said Crownfall Act. Unlocking paths in your Crownfall Act maps can reward you with cosmetics, loading screens, and Crownfall Candies.

These Crownfall Candies can be exchanged for better cosmetics, announcer packs, and even Arcanas and Immortals - premium cosmetics that alter a hero's voice lines, skill animation, and overall appearance.

There are also Crownfall exclusive bundles that you can purchase by checking the Crownfall store. Some bundles also include MMR tokens, which you can use to double down on your ranked games to win double your MMR. Of course, it'll also deduct you double your MMR when you lose, so be careful not to get tilted when using MMR tokens.

Along with Crownfall Act IV is Kez, the leader of the Kazurai Order. They go against Vengeful Spirit's evil sister, Queen Imperia, so it makes sense that Valve releases the hero alongside the concluding Act. Kez utilizes a sword and is more likely to be a carry hero rather than a support. You can check his back story here.

Now that Crownfall Act IV is hours away do some warmups by playing a few Turbo or unranked games. You don't want to lose MMR without having a bit of practice with Kez's new skill set. Stay updated with the latest gaming news and stories by following Gfinity Esports.
