Want to know how to get the Warrior vocation in Dragon's Dogma 2? We've got you covered. It's an upgraded version of the Fighter vocation, possessing slower attacks but able to deliver a ton more damage. Naturally, it's a desired vocation by those who want to inflict as much harm on their enemies as possible.
However, the Warrior vocation is not able to be unlocked until you complete a specific Dragon's Dogma 2 quest and find a certain Greatsword. The Greatsword is the weapon of choice for Warriors, you'll need to make it to Vernworth to receive the quest to find it.
Below, you can read all about the process to unlock the Warrior vocation in Dragon's Dogma 2. Before we begin, check out our other guides revealing how to get the Sorcerer vocation and how to escape jail.
How to unlock Warrior Vocation in Dragon's Dogma 2
As we previously mentioned, you'll have to make your way to Vernworth if you want to unlock the Warrior vocation. This also applies to the Sorcerer vocation, which is unlocked through the same quest, but you have to find an Archistaff instead of a Greatsword.
In Vernworth, make your way to the Vocation Guild and speak with the NPC behind the counter. He will mention the Warrior and Sorcerer vocations are not able to be learned at present due to a Greatsword and Archistaff going missing.
To learn more about the missing weapons, you have to head over to the Smithy shop in the city. This starts the quest called "Vocation Frustration" in Dragon's Dogma 2.
At the smithy, you learn the weapons went missing in a cave guarded by goblins. This cave is called Trevo Mine and it's located to the northwest of Vernworth. All you have to do is follow the main road north out of the city and then head west to reach the mine.
At the Trevo Mine, kill all the guards outside the cave entrance and then head inside. You'll find more goblins to kill, but on the eastern side of the mine, you'll discover an armoury room with weapons and armour in it. You'll also find a couple of chests in the room, one of which contains the Greatsword you're looking for. On the map screenshot below, you can see exactly where this room is located inside the Trevo Mine.
After picking up the Greatsword, you'll have to continue east from the armoury room to find the Archistaff for the Sorcerer vocation. With both weapons in hand, or just the Greatsword, you can head back to the Vocation Guild NPC in Vernworth and trade the weapon(s) in order to complete the Vocation Frustration quest.
This unlocks the Warrior vocation and allows you to swap your current vocation to it for 150 DCP. This is done through the Vocation Guild as well. You can freely swap back and forth between all vocations in Dragon's Dogma 2, and that goes for your Primary Pawn as well. If you want your Pawn to be a Warrior or Sorcerer, you can change their vocation to it.
