Elden Ring has time and time again shocked many gaming fans year after year. From winning Game of the Year in 2022 to having the highest-rated DLCs ever (which promptly made The Game Awards decide that it can be considered as a nominee for the Game of the Year), Elden Ring has continued to make fans gape in awe and FromSoftware shows no signs of stopping anytime soon.
Announced during The Game Awards, Elden Ring: Nightreign is a standalone spin-off that will have multiplayer features. Set in a parallel universe, this game aims to expand the lore of Elden Ring.
It will be heavily multiplayer-focused and will add mechanics centering around co-op play. If you are interested in journeying with your buddies in Limveld, Elden Ring: Nightreign's new area, here's everything you need to know about Elden Ring: Nightreign.
Elden Ring: Nightreign What We Know
As players rally together to face a new threat in Limveld, Elden Ring: Nightreign adds new gameplay mechanics such as 3-player co-op and 8 unique characters to choose from, each with different abilities and ultimates. It seems like Elden Ring: Nightreign will not let you create a custom character but you will have to choose between these characters and synergize between your friends.
Players will band together to survive night cycles, with each cycle getting smaller due to the fiendish Night Tide. At the end of each night, players will face a powerful boss, and they will be able to further awaken their powers if they end up victorious against these formidable foes.
As Limveld changes and evolves in each session, finding Sites of Grave will let players level up and add more powers. This makes exploration a crucial part of preparing against the enemy bosses.
Aside from playing co-op with friends, Elden Ring: Nightreign will also let you play alone in a single-player session.
Each session will lead up to the third night where they fight against the chosen Night Lord and will let you unravel the story behind the Nightfarers, Elden Ring: Nightreign's unique playable characters.
