Sometimes the difficulty of FromSoftware games like Dark Souls and Sekiro can make you feel doomed to grind away forever, but what if you could throw away your frustrations by playing as a character with a notoriously bemused attitude towards trouble?

Well, if you’re in the market for something to add to your Elden Ring experience that’s arguably more surreal than fighting Binley Mega Chippy, a new mod might be just what you’re looking for.

Bringing one of gaming’s most iconic figures to the Lands Between, the mod, simply titled “Duke Nukem” will have you embracing your inner action hero.

Duke Nukem Rocks Up In Elden Ring

The mod is the work of serial tinkerer madao112, who has also brought a number of other off-brand characters like Armor King from Tekken and Kain from the Legacy of Kain series into the FromSoft game since its launch earlier this year.

The only way to do this is by having the character’s skin replace one of the many armour sets in game, hence the fact that you’ll find these mods listed as such on the nexus.

The Duke Nukem Elden Ring mod, for instance, replaces the Briar armour set by default, which you can get easily enough via Enia in Roundtable Hold after defeating Elemer of the Briar in The Shaded Castle area of the game.

You can change this parameter by altering its file name to another item on this list that you don’t mind losing, but at only 500 Runes for the set, it’s a quick and easy means to a very particular end.

As with most Elden Ring mods, you’ll also need to grab Mod Engine 2 in order to get things to work as they should.

If Duke Nukem isn’t your style, you can also try a number of other character-based mods on the nexus, which allow you to cosplay as anyone from God of War’s Kratos, to Batman and even Harry Potter.
