Boss fights in Elden Ring can be so difficult that even those who’ve had their motivational pep talk from Israel Adesanya can be left in a ball on the floor, wishing that they had a bit more firepower.
You see, no matter how fast you swing your sword or other medieval implement of choice, life in the game’s battle arena-esque environment can leave you wondering what life might be like if you had the kind of weaponry that’s at your disposal in other games.
So, how would you feel if I told you that you can now access an arsenal befitting any Call of Duty or Battlefield game in order to aid your progress through the Lands Between? Yup, someone’s added guns to Elden Ring.
Elden Ring Gets Some More Modern Weaponry
The mod in question is called “Elden Ring Gun Mod Pack”, by modder Tallmaget, whose previous work includes adding a lot of Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts characters into the game.
As the title suggests, this new mod is a little less anime, adding “an assortment of assault rifles, sniper rifles, and sub-machine guns” to your boss slaying tool belt.
Among the pea shooters on offer are some real-world examples, including the MP5, the UMP45 and the AR 15.50, which will replace some of the vanilla game’s crossbows.
Also, if you’re looking to try your new weapons out on some hordes of smaller enemies before sliding up to one of the tougher bosses and unleashing the muzzle flash, a couple of other new mods might be able to help with that.
The first of these is for those whose frustrations with their medieval weapons have blossomed into a dislike of everything from the middle ages, with SteveCroser’s “MEDIEVAL WARFARE III” replacing some enemies, bosses and even wildlife with a deluge of knights to try and rain on your parade via the Elden Ring enemy randomiser.
Meanwhile, if you’re after something a little more surreal, another of SteveCroser’s works, called “ALBINAURICPOCALYPSE” does something similar, but with the titular enemy instead.
So, grab your weapon of choice, load in your ammo, and make sure to follow us for more updates on the wacky worlds of Elden Ring, Skyrim, and Fallout modding.
