Black Widow finally got her own film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Disney believes it's mighty enough to compete for the Oscars. As reported by Comic Book, the House of Mouse has launched a "For Your Consideration" campaign for Black Widow, tipping the Marvel film for several Academy Awards.

Black Widow Is Competing For The Oscars
The film is up for a host of high-profile categories, including Best Picture and also Best Actress for Scarlett Johansson.
Several cast members are being profiled in the Supporting Actress category including Florence Pugh, Rachel Weisz, and Olga Kurylenko, while David Harbour, William Hurt, O-T Fagbenle, and Ray Winstone are hopefuls for Best Supporting Actor.
The move is a surprising one, considering the actress filed a lawsuit against Disney following the film's release on the media giant's streaming platform. This news could suggest the two parties have come to a truce, following their settlement in October.
Black Widow isn't the only MCU movie charging towards the golden statue this year, though. Sony is also pushing Spider-Man: No Way Home for the Oscars.
