The Batman is one of the most anticipated movies of the year. Ahead of the film's imminent release, it looks like more adventures will follow for the Caped Crusader.
On the red carpet for the film's premiere, Matt Reeves discussed the future of the DC adaptation and when asked about a potential second instalment, the director revealed that there have been talks for a sequel.

The Batman Sequel Is Already Being Discussed
Speaking from the UK premiere Reeves noted that there are ideas for more adventures for Robert Pattinson's interpretation of the superhero, but that he didn't want those to impact the process of making this movie:
I mean look, you don’t make number one as if there’s going to be number two. You have to make number one as if you’re swinging for the fences and it has to be a movie that stands and lives on its own.
The Planet of the Apes director also noted that they are already planning on expanding the universe with a Penguin spin-off and a GCPD show forthcoming for HBO Max.
But I really believe in what we’ve done and I’d be excited to tell more stories. We are already telling other stories in the streaming space, we’re doing stuff on HBO Max, we’re doing a Penguin show with Colin [Farrell] which is gonna be super cool, and we’re doing some work on some other stuff too.
Alongside these projects, sequel talks have begun. However, it seems like the filmmaker wants to release the DC adaptation first for fans to enjoy before cementing any next steps in the future:
We have started talking about another movie, but, you know, right now we’ll just put it out in the world and I’ll try to enjoy this.
