While many battle royale players might think of Fortnite, Apex Legends or Call of Duty Warzone, Fall Guys has carved out a sizable audience since its release in 2020.

Finding someone who hadn’t taken on the game’s array of platforming challenges has been a difficult task for a while, even before it recently became free-to-play.

As it turns out, this decision looks to have created even more positive momentum for the game, with it just having hit 20 million players.

Lots of Guys and Girls Have Taken on Fall Guys

This milestone comes within 48 hours of the game becoming free across multiple platforms, with this ‘Free For All!’ initiative bringing the game back into the limelight.

Celebrating the achievement on Twitter, the team at Mediatonic used the official Fall Guys account to say: “We reached an incredible 20 million players in the first 48 hours of Free For All! See you this weekend my beans!”

The tweet also issued a hearty thank you “to all who have stumbled”, showing appreciation for all of those who’ve persevered after failing to make the cut in any of the game’s zany challenges.

However, it hasn’t all been smooth sailing for Fall Guys recently, as the switch to free-to-play has also seen some server issues, which have impeded players’ ability to find sessions easily.

Attempts to solve these problems via multiple updates are ongoing, with some players still being randomly kicked out of games and having to rejoin in order to participate in the action.

As reported by Eurogamer, similar issues affected the game when it launched on PlayStation 4 and Steam back in 2020, with the sheer number of prospective beans attempting to play it overwhelming the servers.

The latter of the two is no longer a problem, with Fall Guys having been moved over to the Epic Games Store on PC, something which isn’t too surprising given that Epic Games took over ownership of developer Mediatonic back in March 2021.
