Rumours have emerged that Fallout New Vegas 2 has entered early discussions at Microsoft. Having acquired New Vegas publisher Bethesda and developer Obsidian, this rumour emerged during Giantbomb’s show Grubbsnax (transcribed by VGC), where Jeff Grubb claimed New Vegas 2 has entered “very early talks" at Microsoft.
Stating that New Vegas 2 is still years away, Microsoft is reportedly interested in making the project a reality, getting Obsidian to make it. That hasn't been confirmed by Microsoft yet but, given the alleged early nature of these talks, we wouldn't expect an announcement for a long time.
Fallout: New Vegas 2 Reportedly in Discussions at Microsoft
Fallout New Vegas first arrived back in 2010 for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, becoming lauded as one of the best Fallout games ever made. Though it suffered from numerous bugs and glitches, many appreciated the freedom New Vegas gave players, often considered one of the best RPGs ever made.
Fallout: New Vegas hasn't been ported to modern consoles, though it's available through backwards compatibility on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Game Pass. You can also check out Fallout 76 or Fallout 4, which are available now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
