Far Cry 6, the next mainline instalment of the FPS franchise, is arriving on February 18, 2021.
That puts it squarely in next-gen territory, but some of the game's promotional material suggests that there could be a discrepancy between the game's PS5 and Xbox Series X performance.
Will Far Cry 6 Be Less Than 4K On PS5?
You can see the words "4K Ultra HD on Xbox One X and Xbox Series X Only" highlighted in this tweet by @XcloudTimdog.
Curious. Why xbox one x and not ps5? Is next gen 60fps? Or is it because of Ray Tracing . Or dont read into this pic.twitter.com/WIMj1MpSTW

We're going to go out on a limb here and say that this is almost certainly nonsense.
While the Xbox Series X offers more raw computing power (teraflops) than the PlayStation 5, it seems highly unlikely that the game will run at less than 4K on PS5.
Of course, there's always the possibility that the game runs at a lower framerate, but the text simply looks to be differentiating between the 4K Xbox consoles (Xbox Series X and Xbox One X) and the Xbox One S and earlier.
