With Capcom releasing Dragon’s Dogma 2’s character creator early, the community is hard at work crafting their... unique Arisens and Pawns for when the game releases on March 22, 2024.

It’s a tale as old as time: a new game is blessed with a highly detailed and intricate character creator, and naturally, the gaming community will use it to create some of the most hideous custom characters known to man. Plus, lots of characters that kinda look like celebrities but are just that little bit off, so they never escape the uncanny valley.

So, here are some of the best (or most bizarre) Dragon’s Dogma 2 characters that players have created so far. Most of these abominations - I mean, characters, were discovered on the r/fashiondogma subreddit.

Lord Chadquaad

First up, we've got Lord Chadquaad, a beefed-up version of Lord Farquaad from the first Shrek film. This isn't the ugliest character I've seen, and the resemblance to the original character is quite good. But still, a musclebound, "chadified" Farquaad is an unnerving image that is going to be stuck with me for a long time. Thanks a lot.

Adam Sandler

Next, we have Adam Sandler, or to be more specific, Adam Sandler as the Zohan, the eponymous character in the 2008 action/comedy "You Don't Mess with the Zohan." It's one of the better-reviewed Sandler flicks of the late noughties (it's got a whopping 37% on Rotten Tomatoes), and now, if you really want, you can have the Zohan himself follow you around and protect you from goblins. To be fair, the likeness here to Mr. Sandler is nearly spot-on. Now, where's my Kevin James pawn?

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

This one is for all you Sergio Leone fans out there. The main trio from 'The Good, the Bad and the Ugly' have been recreated pretty faithfully here. Clint Eastwood's Blondie might be a tad on the 'yassified' side, but it's still a good approximation. Lee Van Cleef's Angel Eyes and Eli Wallach's Tuco more than make up for it though, as they perfectly resemble the Bad and the Ugly from the film. It's a crying shame that I probably won't be able to don a poncho and roleplay as the Man with No Name fighting dragons and griffins. Ah, maybe in Dragon's Dogma 3?

Cliff (Mads Mikkelsen)

As an ardent Death Stranding defender and card-carrying member of the Mads Mikkelsen fan club, I'm very tempted by the prospect of having Mads as my constant travelling companion throughout Dragon's Dogma 2. We know that the game is going to have some delicious-looking food in it, so why not have Hannibal Lecter himself by your side as you cook up a juicy steak? Just don't ask where he got the meat from.

Patrick Bateman

Hey, speaking of having psychopaths as pawns, why not choose the most famous—or at least the most memed—pop culture psychopath, Patrick Bateman? Will he dance to Huey Lewis and the News? Probably not. Will he have an obsessively detailed skincare routine? Unlikely. Will he get all anxious and bothered about a business card? I doubt it, but he does look like Christian Bale, if a bit gaunt. And the best part is if you get sick of Bateman, you can just pretend it's Bruce Wayne with a bad mullet. Or bat mullet?

Soup Cat

It's soup cat. I don't really know what else there is to say. It's a cat that has soup all over its face. It's just soup cat.

Garfield

From adorable, innocent Soup Cat to this... thing. I don't want to say this is one of the worst things I've laid eyes on in my time on this Earth, but it's definitely up there. It's Garfield, of course. Except instead of being a fat, lazy, orange cat, it's what appears to be a slightly tubby man wearing a furry cat costume. It gives me quite horrid PTSD flashbacks to 2019's 'Cats', if there's anyone out there who hasn't repressed their memories of that film. While I won't say I like Dragon's Dogma Garfield, I'll admit I do want to create Jon Arbuckle so they can fight monsters and go on journeys together. Just as Jim Davis intended.

Geralt of Rivia

We'll finish up with a genuinely impressive version Geralt of Rivia. The likeness here is perfect. From the distinctive grey hair, rugged scars, the yellow cat eyes, the resemblance is uncanny. The only thing that could make this pawn better is the famous bath. After all, who could be more fitting to stand by your side in the face of monstrous adversaries and cunning bandits than the legendary White Wolf himself?

That's it for Dragon's Dogma 2's best (or worst) pawns so far. Wanna know more about the game? Click here to learn about all the vocations you can play as, or here if you want to learn about the harsh punishment for killing NPCs.
