Among Nintendo's many franchises, Fire Emblem has certainly risen from obscurity and become one of its most popular. Its titles, such as Fire Emblem: Three Houses and the more recent Fire Emblem Engage, have certainly helped propel it to the mainstream, ensuring it continues its future in the video gaming industry.

Now that Nintendo's ninth-generation system, the Switch 2, is out and thriving, many expect the franchise to make its presence known yet again. Given the more powerful hardware to take advantage of, there is a lot of potential for a Fire Emblem exclusive on the console to do many things that fans would appreciate.

To start, it could use the previously mentioned power of the Switch 2. Games such as Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes showed that fans love large-scale battles and settings, but the technology they were played on at the time couldn't properly handle them, resulting in some slowdowns here and there.

However, with the Switch 2, that will likely no longer be an issue. The console could help produce a Fire Emblem title that can handle a large number of unit models that wasn't possible on the original Nintendo Switch. This can lead to much grander combat, which can then be used to help show the power of the system while also enticing people to get the game.

Another thing a potential Fire Emblem Switch 2 exclusive can do is make use of the Joy-Con's mouse feature. The franchise gameplay involves taking command of multiple units, and it can be a bit cumbersome having to navigate to each one, even with the quality of life updates provided by the more modern entries.

But with the Nintendo Switch 2's Joy-Con feature, it will be so much easier for people to pick whatever character they wish to control. It even opens up the possibilities for implementing ideas that will provide further assistance to players, such as dragging a cursor to command multiple units at once, helping the next Fire Emblem game to become the most user-friendly in the franchise.

Lastly, if there is going to be a new game on the system, then it could potentially have the best multiplayer among all of the current entries. The reason for this is that it can take advantage of the Switch 2's GameChat feature.

It is the system's exclusive communication platform, and it certainly helps in making playing with friends feel more exciting and enjoyable. With it allowing users to see others' reactions, assuming they have a camera compatible with the Switch 2, and watch their gameplay in real time, the next Fire Emblem game can integrate all of that into its multiplayer and create more exciting and immersive co-op or competitive battle experiences.

Given what is possible, fans should be excited about the thought of the franchise putting a new game into the ninth-generation console. A Fire Emblem Switch 2 exclusive is certainly something that Nintendo should highly consider in pushing through with, as it would be a missed opportunity if it didn't. Hopefully, the day comes when an announcement regarding its development is made, as it will likely be welcomed with open arms and a lot of anticipation.
