Every Pokémon Trainer begins their journey with wide eyes, a team of six hopeful Pokémon, and a heart full of dreams. From the first wild encounter to the final gym badge, the path is clear, and that is to defeat the Elite Four and claim victory over the reigning Champion.

It's a tradition that spans regions and generations. For many, the Champion battle is the ultimate test. Some, like Sinnoh's Cynthia, are infamous for their nightmarish difficulty, pushing trainers to the edge with her well-crafted team and relentless pressure.

But then, there’s Geeta. The so-called “La Primera” of Paldea, who ends this epic journey not with a bang, but with a pitiful whimper.

Geeta is introduced as the pinnacle of the Paldean League. She’s spoken of with reverence and mystery, an elegant and calm figure who appears now and then during your travels, assessing gym leaders and keeping an air of prestige.

By the time you face her, there’s a sense of growing anticipation. Who is this woman that even seasoned Trainers defer to? What powerful team does she command? Then the battle starts… and all that buildup collapses like a Jigglypuff's balloon.

Simply put, Geeta is a disappointment. Her team is not only poorly structured but bafflingly passive. She opens with Espathra, a Pokémon that could be threatening but ends up spamming weak attacks instead of capitalizing on its Speed Boost ability. Her Glimmora, usually used to set up Toxic Spikes or with its ability, appears last in the battle, rendering its strategic purpose moot.

Her team lacks synergy and any sense of danger, and her Kingambit, which can sweep with its ability the more Pokémon faint, is sent out in the middle instead of as her last.

She underutilizes the new Pokémon introduced in Paldea, like Annihilape, sticking to safe and uninspiring picks. Despite being the "Top Champion," she never switches or adapts, even when facing clear type disadvantages. It feels more like fighting a glorified gym leader than the region’s ultimate challenge.

The Pokémon community quickly noticed her lackluster performance and began brainstorming how to make Geeta a proper final boss. Suggestions flooded in, from giving her stronger Paldean Pokémon like Annihilape or Baxcalibur, to reworking her team for better coverage and competitive synergy.

One popular fan-made fix involves replacing her Veluza with Iron Valiant to counter a surprise threat and giving Glimmora a leading role with hazards. This not only adds difficulty but turns her into a strategic threat that lives up to her title.

With proper adjustments, Geeta could have had a team that truly challenged players instead of serving as an easy victory lap.

Sadly, even her rematch battles in the post-game and the Academy Ace Tournament do little to redeem her. While her team levels up, the core problems remain.

She still uses the same flawed strategies, fails to take advantage of strong typing, and continues to misuse Pokémon with great potential. It feels like the developers missed a huge opportunity to polish her into the intimidating Champion she was meant to be.

Instead, she remains static and easily forgettable, a mere speed bump rather than a final trial.

In the grand tapestry of Pokémon Champions, Geeta stands out, but not for the reasons one would hope. While others like Lance, Steven, and Iris earned their place through well-earned difficulty and clever battle design, Geeta’s legacy is one of wasted potential and unearned hype.

For a journey filled with rich characters and heartfelt stories, it’s a shame that the final challenge ends up being the easiest of all.
