Monster Hunter Wilds’ latest Update 1.5 introduced a slew of new content, like the highly praised Street Fighter 6 collaboration that lets players hunt and play as Akuma. Among the additions in the 1.5 Update is an Endemic Life viewer, where players can check out their captured endemic creatures and admire their splendor.

But there’s just one problem: It’s not what players were hoping for.

How Does the Endemic Life Viewer in Monster Hunter Wilds Work?

It’s essentially just a menu, a simple interface where you can view your captured endemic life. To unlock it, players need to visit Ferdinand the researcher in the Windward Plains Base Camp and talk to him.

There's nothing particularly special about it. It's comparable to looking at the Monster Field Guide and reading up on the monsters you've hunted or captured. The only difference is that it displays a 3D model of your captured creature, allowing you to admire it in detail for as long as you like.

What’s worse, it has a terrible sorting feature and it doesn’t stack the Endemic life you captured. This means you'll get hundreds of copies in one page, which is a nightmare to sort with.

And... that’s pretty much it.

Will There Be a Home to Store Endemic Life in Monster Hunter Wilds?

As of now, no. Capcom currently has no plans to implement a player home in Monster Hunter Wilds, a place where hunters can store and interact with their captured endemic life.

The Endemic Life viewer feels like a band-aid fix for something that’s been missing since launch.

Players have long wished for a peaceful sanctuary in the wilds, like the personal rooms featured in Monster Hunter World or even Monster Hunter Rise. Having the ability to place favorite endemic creatures in a home and watch them roam freely would be a fitting reward for those who spent countless hours tracking down rare and elusive species.

Instead, what they got was a barebones viewer, with little to offer beyond static admiration, and that hasn’t gone over well with the community.

What’s Next for Monster Hunter Wilds Updates?

Title Update 2 is currently in development and will mark the return of the iconic Lagiacrus. However, we likely won’t see it until late June or early July.

With Update 1.5 now live, players at least have a chunk of fresh content to chew through. Monsters are now more formidable thanks to new 8-Star difficulty options, and underpowered weapons, like the Hammer and both Light and Heavy Bowguns, have received some much-needed balancing.

Still, the Endemic Life viewer stands out as one of the least impactful additions so far. Fans are eager for more substantial updates, like a proper player abode where their hard-earned endemic creatures can finally feel at home.
