The Switch 2 will launch with 24 games, giving fans plenty of choices. It can be overwhelming to pick one of these titles, especially given how pricey some of them are. Still, some gamers might bear with the price and try to pick up as many launch games as possible, with some of them being digital exclusives.

For those who want a bit of variety in their launch gaming, we’ve compiled a list of the best games to get during this period. Because this lineup has so much variety, we decided to pick the best games to make most gamers happy. To simplify things, there will be no original Switch games with upgrade packs to keep things fresh.

Here are the must-have games when the Nintendo Switch 2 comes out.

Mario Kart World

Mario Kart World

Let’s get the most obvious game out of the way. Pretty much everyone will want to get the new Mario Kart at launch, given this franchise’s reputation. The mascot racing series has always been a fan-favorite, so making this a launch title was pretty smart on Nintendo’s part. There's something for everyone here, from fun single-player tournaments to multiplayer mayhem.

Gamers might want to pick up that Mario Kart World bundle when it comes out this June. Unfortunately, World is one of those games that will cost $80 at launch, with rumors that physical copies can reach $90. At those prices, that bundle is a packaged deal.

Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD Remaster

It might not be the most graphically impressive Switch 2 launch game, but this HD remaster of Bravely Default will be the same quality JRPG it was on 3DS. We’re surprised this game isn’t confirmed for the original Switch since it should run easily on that hardware. At the least, fans have a meaty RPG to play through at launch.

Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition

Nintendo fans who missed out on the game can finally pick up Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition when it launches with this new console. Having a huge open-world game like this at launch is a mission statement, showing how powerful this system will be. The game has also been fixed since its buggy launch, so players won’t have to worry about serious bugs.

Collectors will want to get the physical version when it comes out, as it will be a full game and not the annoying Game-Key Card that angers fans. Much like their miracle port of Witcher 3, CD Projekt Red found a way to shove this game in a cartridge, and fans can’t wait to try it out themselves.

Street Fighter 6

One of the best fighting games in recent history, Capcom’s Street Fighter 6, is a must-have at this system’s launch. With a huge open-world single-player mode, customizable arcade mode, silly mini-games, and unique motion controls, there’s a lot to love. Now that the second DLC pass is almost done, there are more fighters than ever to choose from.

Split Fiction

A fantastic co-op experience that uses the gaming medium to tell stories. You won’t see many games like Split Fiction. Fans who enjoyed what they played of It Takes Two will have another great experience here. Gamers can enjoy this with their loved ones, something the Switch consoles always specialize in.

Those are the Switch 2 launch games we recommend. If you want to grab a Switch 2 for yourself, click here to check out availability on popular retailers' websites.
