Square Enix has detailed Final Fantasy XIV's latest patch, 6.1. Adding new main and side quests, those can be undertaken after finishing the Endwalker expansion. While it’s not the big 7.0 update fans are waiting for, there's a decent update within.
Releasing next month, Final Fantasy XIV 6.1 features a new Warrior of Light main scenario quest. There's also new role quests available, alongside the Tataru’s Grand Endeavor side missions.

Final Fantasy XIV 6.1 Update Outlined by Square Enix
New challenges are also included throughout Final Fantasy XIV 6.1. Both a new secret dungeon and a new trial will be added, though the developers didn’t reveal their names yet, as they contain Endwalker spoilers.
All of these features were covered in the Letter from the Producer Live LXIX video from Square Enix (thanks Siliconera). More updates are expected to hit the game, adding in further quests to play through and loot to earn.
Final Fantasy XIV 6.1 will release in April 2022. If you've not dived in yet, you can find the main game readily available on PS4, PS5, and PC.
